C-DOT SBM RAX (Single Base Module exchange)

The SBM exchange can be deployed for rural local switch applications to service upto 1,500 subscribers. In the smallest configuration, a single cabinet (with four Terminal Units a Service Unit and a Control Unit) with two Input-Output Processors and an Alarm Display Panel can serve about 424 subscribers with adequate trunk connectivity without any concentration. By adding two more line module cabinets, equipped with only subscriber line cards in all the six frames, the switch can support upto 1,500 lines with 4:1 concentration.

The use of low power CMOS technology ensures low power consumption and allows the system to work in a partially controlled environment. Also, a high level of connectorisation and minimal interframe cabling allows quick installation of the system. A stand-alone SBM exchange can be converted into a Remote Switching Unit (RSU) which can be parented to a Main Automatic Exchange (MAX) just by changing two cards in the system. The RSU can serve upto 2000 subscribers.

C-DOT 256P RAX
C-DOT 256P RAX (Small capacity Rural Automatic Exchange) is a digitally stored program-controlled-controlled non-blocking 4-wire PCM switch with 256 terminations or ports. These terminations include Subscriber lines, Trunks to other exchanges and tones. It is ideal for rural applications as it provides immediate basic telephone connections with practically no infrastructure and air-conditioning.
A distinguishing feature of the C-DOT 256P RAX is its simple an flexible connectivity through a wide range of transmission systems such as UHF, VHF, radio and satellite. Because it is program controlled, it can be easily integrated as per network requirements and can thus act as a terminal exchange, Integrated Local cum Transit (ILT) exchange or a purely transit exchange.
About 25,000 C-DOT 256P RAX exchange are presently operating in India and many other countries of Asian and African sub-continents.
C-DOT DSS MAX
C-DOT Digital switching System (DSS) is a universal digital switch, which incorporates state-of-art technologies and concepts in hardware, software and packing.
New features and services are continuously added to increase the utility and relevance of the systems. The latest signaling system CCS7 and the network Synchronization features have been introduced recently, to from the basis for several advanced services. These include the Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) and Intelligent Network (IN) services.
The C-DOT DSS MAX not only serves upto 40,000 subscribers but as the capability to handle 800,000 calls in hour. Thus the C-DOT technology with 800K BHCA is comparable to any foreign digital exchange technology. With V5-2 interface it is now possible to support more than 50,000 wireless or other access network subscribers. In addition, the C-DOT exchanges are highly cost effective.
