This system is manufactured by ITI Limited, India in collaboration with M/s Alcatel, France.

This system can be used to provide service to subscribers far flung from existing exchange by converting electrical signals at existing exchange end to optical signal and transmitting the same on optical fibre cable (OFC) to remote end where ubscribers are located.

This system is available in both PDH/SDH hierarchy. The system comprises of Central Office Terminal (COT) and Access Terminals (ATs) .

COT and AT are interconnected by Optical Fibre Cable(OFC).

The optical interface is at STM-1 rate. The system however has PDH interface also. This system is available in three configurations viz.,

1. 480 channels Point-to-point system with V/F interface towards exchange.
2. COT/AT positioned on Optical Ring with V/F interface towards exchange(480/1920 channels)
3. COT/AT positioned on Optical Ring with V5.2 interface towards exchange (480/1920 channels).
